Agnes Water is the Australian holiday paradise youve never heard of
I hadn’t either, until I got to visit the place with my girlfriend earlier this month. It’s a small town of about 2000, people, nestled halfway between Gladstone and Bundaberg on the central coast of Queensland.Because so few people know about Agnes Water, it’s not too busy … unless you’re there during the school holidays. That modest scale makes it a charming, relaxed holiday spot.There is a flip side to the “hidden paradise” factor, of course. Agnes Water is a 120km drive from its two nearest airports — they’re almost exactly equidistant — without much to see along the way. But once you’re there, the trek seems a reasonable price to pay.
